Pile burning north of Enterprise along Highway 3

This week, Wallowa-Whitman National Forest fire crews are continuing to burn wood piles along Highway 3 north of Enterprise.  Piles consist of small-diameter timber from past thinning projects that have dried and cured long enough to burn efficiently and with reduced smoke.  These projects are enhancing forest resilience to wildfires, insects, and diseases.
